Our very own Dr. Anna Christakos-DiTeodoro, Pharmacist at VA New York Harbor Healthcare System’s Brooklyn Campus, was among the presenters at the Second Annual Brooklyn Hepatology Update, held on June 8, 2012 at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
The Course Director, Dr. Ayse Aytaman, Chief of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at VA NY Harbor’s Brooklyn Campus brought international speakers together to present the latest information in hepatology to the Gastroenterologists, Hepatologists, Infectious Disease Specialists, Gastroenterology Fellows, Gastroenterology Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and Pharmacists present. The conference was a success with attendance of approximately 200 providers from a wide range of medicine practices, as well as pharmacy students from Long Island University.
Dr. Christakos-DiTeodoro, who was invited back to be among the faculty this year, presented to one of the largest attended breakout sessions on the Management of Anti Viral therapy side effects. She discussed the role of the team approach in managing patients as well as side effects and drug interaction management for successful therapy.
