Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn Veterans are invited to a Welcome Home event to be held Saturday, September 22 at the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System’s Manhattan Campus, located at 423 East 23rd Street, Manhattan. The free event will be held from 10 am to 3 pm.
The Welcome Home, which will showcase some of the VA’s services and provide opportunities for eligibility and enrollment, will focus on VA Home Loan Guarantee: The Do’s and Don’ts of Home Ownership. Workshops will include VA Home Loan Guarantee and Financial Literacy.
In addition, VA partners will also be on hand, including: VA Vet Centers, NYS Division of Veterans Affairs, NYS Department of Labor, Small Business Administration, IRS, Public & Private Colleges and Universities and Veteran Service Organizations.
“This event is an ideal time to welcome back our returning Veterans and educate them on services and benefits they have earned and introduce them to VA,” said Wilfred Cotto, Community Relations, VA New York Harbor, U. S. Navy Veteran (retired).
The event will begin with registration and a light breakfast at 10 a.m.; lunch will be served at Noon and education and networking sessions will continue through 3 p.m.
