MISSION STATEMENT: To provide a healthy, safe & nurturing environment to meet the needs of our students, families & staff.
AGES SERVED: Serving children ages 2 to 5 years old.
HOURS OF OPERATION: Open 52 weeks a year, Monday-Friday, from 7:15am-5:45pm, full–time & part–time care.
LICENSING: Fully licensed by the NYC Dept. of Health and we are accredited by the National Assoc. for the Education of Young Children.
FACILITIES: Two classrooms, fully equipped kitchen, adjacent outdoor play area, vegetables & flower garden. Access to meeting rooms at the VA Medical Center for special occasions.
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES: Singing, music, weekly dance lessons, Spanish language lessons, computers lessons, gardening program, group outings to nearby parks, daily entertainment, creative hands-on activities & projects. Parents observe activities on video. We celebrate various ethnic holidays & taste ethnic foods. Children partake in daily indoor or outdoor physical activities. BCCI provides daily breakfast and snacks and we always have daily nap time.
UNIVERSAL PRE-K PROGRAM: Our Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program is sponsored by the NYC Board of Education which means 2 ½ free hours every day for each child. Our school is open to the public and we hire NYS Certified Early Childhood Teachers.
SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM: Register early for summer season (June - August) for ages 2 to 5 years.

LICENSING: Fully licensed by the NYC Dept. of Health. Accredited by National Assoc. for the Education of Young Children.
FACILITIES: Our center has four classrooms, an eat-in pantry area, and an adjacent outdoor play area. We have access to nearby playgrounds (Asser Levy) where teachers and children visit on a daily basis, weather permitting. The VA also allows us access to spaces where gross motor activities can take place when we cannot go outside.
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES: Classes take trips to neighborhood sites including the firehouse, public library and supermarket, as well as making trips to places of interest around the city (The Hayden Planetarium, The Bronx Zoo). We make connections with the hospital community throughout the year when we share in their Veteran's Day events, participate in Halloween costume parade in selected areas of the facility, and offer "Thank you" cookies to various departments during holiday time. We also look for ways to give back to the community-at-large and are actively creating murals/banners to beautify patient wings of the hospital.
