Objectives: Sociodrama provides the opportunity for participants to benefit in the following ways:
To try on roles that they are growing into or revisit roles that they have left.
To rehearse new situations and develop or refine social and communication skills.
To have a better understanding of the issues they are facing.
To have fun and enjoy being creative and spontaneous.
To recognize when someone needs help and how to help him.
To learn how to help themselves or where to go for help.
To learn from the insights, experience, knowledge, and energy that each participant brings to the group.
To see through the stereotypes that are commonly used in the media.
Participants should be able to tolerate and participate in a group and express interest in learning about or practicing these concepts and techniques. They will be asked to commit to attending group on a regular basis.
