COVID-19 UPDATE:

The CDC and VA are committed to reducing the spread of the flu and COVID-19. If you have a fever, cough, shortness of breath – please stay home and contact your primary care provider/team. Tell them about how you are feeling and any recent travel you or members of your household have taken. They will be able to discuss your appointment options and answer any questions you may have.

To minimize any potential exposure, we are conducting active screenings for all patients, visitors and employees. Additionally, we have modified our visitation hours as listed below:

St. Albans Community Living Center/Outpatient Clinic - CLC visitation hours have been suspended. There is ongoing active screening for all staff, patients, and visitors entering the outpatient clinic.

New York VAMC - Restricted visitation (see below). Active screening at the front entrance from 6:00AM through 7:00PM. No entry for visitors during the hours of 7:00PM to 6:00AM.

Brooklyn VAMC - Restricted visitation (see below). Active screening at the front entrance from 6:00AM to 7:00PM. No entry for visitors during the hours of 7:00PM to 6:00AM. The process of checking temperature and asking about other symptoms will be done in a tent environment close to the front entrance of the Medical Center. Those with fever will be guided to another location for testing. We continue to adjust to the new information coming daily with our focus to ensure the safety and well being of our Veterans and staff.

Restricted Visitation

Visitors and Caregivers - Visitors must be 18+ years old. The number of visitors per patient will be limited. Additional restrictions may be imposed based on the patient's clinical status.

Inpatient Locations - One visitor per adult patient.

Emergency Departments (ED) - Visitors are prohibited in ED patient areas. For patients requiring assistance, one visitor may be permitted.

Outpatient Locations - One person is allowed to accompany each patient to an appointment. If they present ill, they will not be permitted to enter the facility.
