VA’s New York Harbor Healthcare System receives accolades from Brooklyn Borough President

Brooklyn, NY- VA New York Harbor Healthcare System, Brooklyn campus, will be among the honorees to be recognized for recruiting, hiring, and accommodating Brooklynites with disabilities at a ceremony to be held at Brooklyn Borough Hall on Thursday morning.

In honor of National Disability Employment Month, Borough President Marty Markowitz and his Advisory Committee on Disability Issues will recognize VA and other employers for strides made to welcome disabled employees into the workplace.

“People who are differently-abled should absolutely have access to gainful employment,” said Milagros Andino, Equal Employment Opportunity Program Manager at the VA, New York Harbor Healthcare System. “The Department of Veterans Affairs is committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce and that means reaching out to all qualified candidates.”
